Where are you with your writing project? How can we help?
Can’t find the time you need to write your book? Looking for support with your writing project? Need help becoming unstuck? Here’s how we get acquainted and discover the next steps.
We recognize that your project – and you – are unlike all others. So our entire process is built to honor that reality. We use a three-step sequence designed to uncover and serve each writer’s needs.
LET’S TALK
Step One
• First, your Welcome Call
We’ll get on the phone or Zoom for a free Welcome Call to chat, discuss where you are now, and where you want to go with your writing. During your Welcome Call we can discover your next steps (even if they aren’t likely to involve Chenille Books). Let’s face it – writers need to support one another!
• Complimentary Welcome Call
Step Two
• Next, your Initial Strategy Session
You’ll receive laser-focused guidance – and probably an “a-ha!” or two – about the next steps for your writing project, and tools you can use along the way. Our signature Initial Strategy Session gives you the most impact in the shortest timeframe. Before we speak (for a full sixty minutes), I’ll study your answers to the Creative Brief, and my notes from our Welcome Call. You’ll also share with me a sample chapter and your outline (if you have them), for my review. This way, both of us are up to speed before we start talking. Our call will cover questions, comments, and ideas. Together we’ll form a plan to move your book project forward. One Initial Strategy Session may be all you need to revive your project!Whether you’re considering working with us for a 90 Day Express, Creative Coaching, or Manuscript Development – or another program we devise just for you – take advantage of your Initial Strategy Session first.

Step Three: Choices
• Now, what will it be – 90 Day Express, Creative Coaching, or Manuscript Development?
Something else we design together? (And see Next Step: Editing!)
The following choices are representative examples of the kinds of services Chenille Books offers. Oftentimes, we end up creating a program specific to the client’s needs and situation. So after reviewing these examples, consider whether some other combination of services will be the right fit for you. We’ll talk – and together we’ll figure out what works.
90 Day Express
When you focus, you can accomplish a lot in only three months. Complete a first draft. Or use the 90 Day Express to brainstorm and prepare a presentation with the power to change your professional life.
You bring the specific purpose, and together we make it happen in 90 days!
Creative Coaching
Does Creative Coaching sound like the next step? If you decide on Creative Coaching, we can move into an ongoing coaching relationship. You’re in charge.
Schedule sessions at regular intervals, or only when you feel the need.
Manuscript
Development
Do you need to focus on the manuscript itself, and with more accountability?
If you decide on Manuscript Development, we’ll co-design a program of services to suit you and your project.
Every writer brings a unique situation to the table, and at Chenille Books we’re flexible by design.
So, for example, one person came to us having written the entire book, needing help polishing and preparing the final manuscript for indie publication.
Another writer had been conducting research for ten years. We began working together when it was time to start drafting Chapter One.
Those are widely different scenarios. After our in-depth initial conversations, those two authors worked effectively with us. Explore your options.
Next Step: Editing (& Design)
• Whichever path you choose, don’t you want another set of eyes on your work?
We offer prompt, sensitive line editing services for your book manuscripts, articles, essays, presentations, and other written work. By “line editing” (some call it content editing) we mean the substantive editing work that falls between high-altitude preliminary developmental editing and the detailed late-stage work of copyediting and final proofreading. While line editing encompasses some organizational and structural work, it focuses on word choice, paragraph strength, momentum, message, and cohesiveness. We learn your style and voice, and sustain it consistently throughout your work. We query you if/as needed, and work together toward the result you need and want. When we’ve done our job, your work represents you, your voice, and your message. Sometimes, after a client’s manuscript is completely polished, we’ll also work with you on the design of the pages of your book. Transforming a Word document into a print-ready PDF, with laid-out pages along with the typefaces and design elements that complement your content and make it shine, is a thrilling process.
